Customized house hack

Ok, I have the Harry Potter house hack, but I was wondering if there could be a hack written to expand that. Would it be possible for a member to select which type of house they'll be placed in?

For example, instead of just Harry Potter it would look like this:

Please check which type of house you would like to be placed in:
( ) Harry Potter
( ) Sword of Truth
(x) Song of Ice and Fire
Note: Placement within each type is randomized

something like that. And each type of house would have different numbers of houses. Like in an admin panel you'd be able to set the number of houses and possibly be able to set an image or sigil to that house similar to how the Awards hack works.

Is such a hack, even in it's rawest form possible?

There's very little in PHP that isn't possible these days, it's just a matter of how much work goes into it. I can tell you that while it's possible to do, it'd take a major rewrite of the hack, based on how it's current version works. There's a lot going on right now with hacks trying to be updated and new hacks trying to get out the door. I'll figure out exactly what would need to be done for something like this, but I can't say when it would be ready.

i was just curious. it's good to know it is possible though. as for now i'll just rename the house and replace the sigils with custom images.

no hurry on the request though. just let me know when you can work on it and any updates you might have.
