Well, i just hot a new host/server and I just finished transfering everything right now and it has a database error. Why is that?

Check your config file. If your database name and password changed from one server to another make sure you update this for the new database.

okay, i did what you said and it still goes not work. I would have XMBG transfer the board for me, but my old host deleted all my files so not sure if you would have been able to do it.

We could have done it had we gotten access to the server before the files were deleted. Attach a copy of your config.php file and be sure to remove your password. I don't have your files anymore with having to cover the other installer's requests from time to time I get overloaded with stuff and have to clean things out once in a while.

okay config.php is the origmal one i had on the old host and config2.php is the one i changed. I did it like this to show you.

As long as the info in the new config file correlates to the new server then there should be no problem provide the database and forum directory are also residing on the new server.

Is this different from the new board installatin request you just submitted?
