[Resolved] Can you Transfer Board to new domain?

Last question I swear, it just came up haha.
I was wondering...

I am setting up a new domain with new hosting. Is there a way to transfer my board from one domain/hosting to a different one. What would it consists of? Do I just need to install a new XMB board on my new site then transfer files through FTP ???? Thanks in advance!!! You guys are awesome. This is truely the best Forum out there!!

No it's a little different and a little more complicated than that. You can fill out a board transfer request and we'll transfer it for you.

If you want to do it yourself you can backup the database, copy all the files to your computer, edit config.php so the forum URL reads your new domain name, restore the database in the cPanel, etc etc.

its just the config.php file alone that needs to be edited for the whole thing to work? sounds too good to be true :puzzled:

Actually, you will also need to backup your database, and transfer it to new host. After that you'll need to moove all files, and updated config.php to you new host.
