It does work in Mozilla/Firefox/Netscape. I just need to add the code into the three .js files now that 1.9.2/3 use 3 files instead of 1 file like
1.9.1 does. Will get to it later after fixing some more important problems.

Sounds cool :]
I'm amazed on how fast you guys restored everything to the way it was, and you did not even lose anything.

And that, my friends, is the importance of backing your stuff up at least daily. This site is backed up every 4 hours. It just makes things so much
easier when problems arise. DEATH TO SCRIPTKIDDIES! They all should be castrated so they can't reproduce and their parents should be smacked for
breeding such wastes of human space.

They have nothing better to do obviously.
I back up my stuff now quite frequently, after one of the moderators on my board was hacked. That was a crisis.

Well as it turns out by the evidence from my logs it was my Administrator. Goes to show you really can't trust anyone.

Well it wasn't a computer that deleted my admin panel logs. It wasn't a computer that changed the names of the categories and forums. It wasn't a
computer that deleted my header templates and index and footer templates. It wasn't a computer that emptied out my IP ban list. It wasn't a computer
trying to go in and change usernames. It wasn't a computer going in and trying to run the delete inactive members tool. Thanks to Tularis at xmb who
helped me track down who it was. And it was my admin thinking he was slick using a proxy pointing to an Ethiopian server then came back an hour or so
later using his regular IP. And he hasn't been back since.

:o! i thought it was some stranger going onto an admins account! Wow, I can't believe a friend would do that...
It was Ken wasn't it? I never thought he would do something like that... especially because he owns a candle business and stuff
By computers I meant keyloggers, trojans, ETC. I thought maybe an admin had a keylogger or something ^_^. Obviously that was not the case.

Jim and I have talked. This was not me but someone who had gotten the same password I had signed up on their site with and deciphered the password and
used it to access this site and do it as me.
This was my bad to use the same password on multiple boards. I would never do this to Jim or anyone else on this board. For that fact any board. Jim
has been wonderfull to me with XMBGARAGE and help even before that on other xmb (cough cough) boards that were supposed to be for help with slow
responses.
I do ask that anyone that has me registered on their board to either delete me or make sure I am only a member. I may have used the same password
there and do not want that to happen again.
For anyone that got upset at me personally for this I appologize for any inconvenience this caused by someone using my name for this.
I am here to help everyone I can when I can.

I never wouldve thought it was you but you really should understand cookie theft is an issue with xmb. There are a number of other ways this could
have happened. Ask Rita, at one time I got emails from her telling me I was in big trouble for trashing her site. I had helped her in the past and
when I was helping her she made me a superadmin. Later when her site got hacked it made it look like I did part of it in the admin logs. At the time I
had not even been around her site for days. This was more than a year ago using xmb.
You know that if a hacker hits and finds the right hole they can dump all your cookies. Matter of fact such a hole was found in firefox not that long
back. Regardless of one sites security there are many ways in wihich one can gain access to things they shouldnt.
Youre 100% correct though you shouldnt use the same password everywhere. You also dont know as a member if your password is even encrypted in anyway
in general. We all know that xmb does by default. So its always best to use a number of different passwords and log off sites when you leave them.

Thanks for the vote of confidence on this issue. I know Jim was probably dumbfounded when the trail lead to my login as well. Luckily, (Unlike a lot
of the XMB community) Jim was understanding with this. I know you (Scan) have helped me as well with some hacks in the past on the Alumni site.
It was just very frustrating that someone did this and smeared my name a bit on a site I was entrusted with access to.
I do have a question though. I know IP address is the most common to use for tracking and so forth, But is there another code that a computer itself
transmits that can be recorded as well. I have heard of this but do not know if it is true or not.

There are a few things your computer transmits that can be recorded MAC address, NetBIOS info with it you can even get the user name used to login to
the computer. But IP is the easiest thing to start with and track. The rest would be useful in cases where you tracked it to a school or something and
needed to find what computer it came from but even then it can be tracked by the NAT IP address which gets logged by more places then people really
know.

I believe it was the Mac address they were talking about. I know some click for cash websites used that to log some members and be able to ban them
from that. So no matter what IP they used it did not matter if they used the same box. I wonder is this might even be feasable for XMB.

Only trouble is you can clone a MAC address almost easier then you can spoof and IP. In the end I guess six of one, a half dozen to the other. There
are other ways but you couldn't build them in to the software it would need to be done at the server level / host / isp.
