Oh man.. okay. Well do you have any other suggestions? Because I really would like to have my forum upgraded obviously, but I don't want to erase all
my hacks because I don't think I could install them all myself again, and our forum doesn't have the funds to pay to have them all installed again.
We do have enough funds to have you do a custom upgrade, but that would leave us little money for other aspects of the forum... so do you have any
other suggestions? Is it safe to just continue using 1.9.1?
No it's not safe to continue using 1.9.1. That's why there's new and updated releases that fix bugs and security issues. I can do the board upgrade
to leave all the existing hacks in place. And looking at your list of hacks that we've installed there's several that have been updated for bad code
or bugs. But the choice is ultimately yours to continue using them. By my records there's been 43 hacks installed as of August 1st and who knows how
many have been installed since then. But at least the upgrade will secure the core xmb code. Maybe then you could do a hack or 2 or 3 every now and
then to get them updated. Maybe hold some sort of donation drive or fund raiser?

Okay. I'm discussing it with my boards members, and the general consensus is to have you guys do the custom upgrade because then all our hacks will
remain in place, because with 43 hacks that's going to be a lot more cash to have them all installed again (I didn't realize how many we'd actually
had installed, lol). Is there a list anywhere or something that says which hacks have been upgraded to fix bugs/security issues so I could just get
those upgraded/reinstalled after the board is upgraded?
Okay, well we will probably be upgrading shortly then, as soon as I put the money in my Paypal account. Should I use the same upgrade form if we
decide to do a custom upgrade?
Wormhole: I know it's been like forever since we discussed this, lol, but I got caught up with my schoolwork and didn't have time for my forum. But
I'm back now, and we are still interested in upgrading from 1.9.1. Does the same $30.00 price apply for upgrading to 1.9.5 as well now? If so, I will
go ahead and fill out the upgrade form. Thank you so much!
There's just way too much code change between 1.9.1 and 1.9.5 that it is not advisable to keep or use the 1.9.1 hacks with 1.9.5. So therefore I'm
not offering the manual upgrades anymore.

Go ahead and submit a board upgrade request. I can look through your site and let you know what all hacks are installed and which ones can be
reinstalled.

What if we wanted to down grade? lol, I believe our board is 1.9.7 and it's all messed up, things aren't working correctly, and I don't like that
there's hardly any hacks for it... CAN you downgrade from 1.9.7 or whatever the highest is NOW to 1.9.5? or whatever is best??

As it turns out 1.9.7 is a piece of junk. I recommend downgrading to my 1.9.6 Alpha (which is not to be confused with any other 1.9.6 release) as it
contains many bug and security fixes that 1.9.5 doesn't have. Plus the 1.9.5 version available from xmb also has a definitive problem with the date
display and I will not install hacks to it should you use that version.

yes, very huge piece of junk lol. Does 1.9.6 have quite a few hacks
associated with it? If so, i'll definitely put in a request and pay you for your work or whomever does it.. my board is badly in need of it.

This is 1.9.6 Alpha and is not to be confused with any other 1.9.6 release. This was the first release after 1.9.5 final. It is essentially 1.9.5 as
far as the core code goes. But I added the date issue fix that xmb won't add. And I also added many bug and security fixes that were provided to me
by John Briggs from xmbmods. So, yes, all 1.9.5 hacks will work with this version.
If you submit your request tonight I won't be able to get to it until tomorrow as I have to go get a bit of rest before I have to go to work at 2am.
Plus I'm dealing with getting things backed up on this computer to get ready for my new computer that's sitting in the box in the living room. And
then there are also requests waiting. So I'm running just a bit behind.

I can upgrade you but I offer no support for 1.9.7 RC3. It is not a good idea to use RC versions in a live production environment. Besides, 1.9.8
Final is due out within the next month. And as with any new release there will be some lag time on hack updates.

I know 1.9.7 is not an option on the form if you want an upgrade. Just go ahead and fill the form out as required selecting 1.9.5 as your board
version. Then just notate in the comment box that you want to upgrade to 1.9.7.

Which version do you recommend I update to? I was told 1.9.5 has vulnerabilities. I don't want my board to be hacked or destroyed somehow. I don't
mind paying twice to have it upgraded either.

Well you can have 2 options here. You can upgrade to my 1.9.6 SP1 which is a beefed up 1.9.5 with some added bug and security fixes. All 1.9.5 will
work with this version. Or you can upgrade to 1.9.5 SP1 which is put out by XMB Mods. It's a more secure board over 1.9.6 SP1. (Let me explain a bit
here. 1.9.6 SP1 was originally 1.9.6 Alpha which was the very first release of 1.9.6 almost a year and a half ago. There were some bug and security
fixes that I had added. Then just recently there were some more added. 1.9.5 SP1 is a patched version with a lot more fixes added by John from XMB
Mods. Most, if not all, 1.9.5 hacks will work with this version. There just will be some problems with some hacks in finding the FIND code due to some
coding changes. But if you know what to look for then this won't be a problem. If it is a problem then you can always request them to be installed
for you). So it's your choice. Either one is better than the standard 1.9.5.

So if you installed 1.9.6 SP1 ALL my current 1.9.5 hacks will still work? I think I'm just going to go with that considering 1.9.8 will be released
really soon anyways.
I'll send it a request once I get my co-super admin to send me the FTP address for our website. She told me it was "ftp.hitz-r-us.net" but that
page isn't loading and it didn't work in the request form.
