[Resolved] Quick Question

Ok this is just a quick question, instead of upgrading completely to 1.9.3 my friend just put the security fixes in, so is my board considered 1.9.3 or is it still 1.9.1? I'm wondering as my Shop Hack went haywire after that, so I was wondering if it had to do with the security fixes. Hoepfully I put this is the right place as I wasn't sure, it's non hack related as I'm wondering what grade my board is now.

I doubt it had to do with the security fixes and you're board isn't really considered 1.9.3 because you don't have the features of that version. Could you please tell me what security fixes were implemented?

Also, it sounds like your friend doesn't know what they are doing. If your shop is now not working it's because they didn't take that into consideration. This is why when you have hacks installed you have to do a manual upgrade and know how to work around the hacks.

That's the only one that doesn't work, but it's no biggy as I was thinking of getting rid of it anyways, I heard it has alot of security problems, but with him not knowing what he was doing he should as he's php literate. The only thing wrong with the Shop is uploading av's, but those along with putting urls outside of the forum in the avatar place in profile also. I read on here it could be a host problem but we use to do it before. Blah I'm tired of seeing people with huge av's, it doesn't look good sometimes. So if I do decide to get rid of the Shop how would I request here and how much would it cost to have it uninstalled?

It doesn't really matter if he's a php god. If he's not familiar with the xmb code and the hacks written for it I'd say the chances are good the shop code installed to the files has been overwritten. Because if he DID NOT do a manual upgrade and just uploaded the new files then all hack code is gone. It's as simple as that.

Your shop is pretty much already uninstalled except for the templates and the stuff added to the database, which can also cause errors now in member registration.

I'll uninstall it for the same price as a shop install. Just fill out a request for a shop install. I'll see it's from you and know. But notate in the comment box that it's for an uninstallation.

That's correct. Submit the upgrade first. When I'm done the system will send you a u2u notifying I'm done. Then you can make the hack installation request. Except you will just need to by pass the payment page so you're not charged for it.

Okies I just thought it was major wierd, I mean some were from porn sites, ick! One site last month had 27 hits from it, which was some paris hilton raw thing, unless I have members who join those things and put my link in there, I can't think of how they would get in there.

Yeah I've notice a few porn ads when I brought the ads back. In your Google account there is a "Competitive Ads Filter" where you can ad urls of sites you don't want the ads to show on your site. Login to your account and click on the "Adsense for Content" tab. Then right below you will see the Competitive Ads Filter. Just click that and there will most likely be an empty box. There will also be a link called Edit. Click that and enter the url and save. You can input up to 200 urls.
